Mr. Kim Hwon
Kim Hwon, the Executive Vice President of Korea Gas Corporation's Hydrogen & New Business Division, has been appointed as the new chairman of the Korea LNG Bunkering Industry Association. His two-year term officially began on June 1, 2023, as he succeeds former chairman Yang Jae-hyung, who resigned from the post.
Chairman Kim Hwon joined Korea Gas Corporation in 1992 after graduating from Chonnam National University's Department of Electrical Engineering. With over 30 years of experience in the gas industry, he is recognized as an expert in the field. Throughout his career, he has held various positions, including head of Daejeon Chungcheong Regional Headquarters, head of Nambu Safety Construction, and head of the supply and operation department. Since May 1, 2023, he has been serving as the director of the Hydrogen & New Business Division.
As the new chairman, Kim Hwon has expressed his commitment to supporting member companies in enhancing their responses to the tightening international maritime regulations. He aims to promote the revitalization of eco-friendly ship fuel bunkering to bolster related industries.
