[Offshore Energy/August 6, 2024] Greek ship management service provider Capital Gas Ship Management has taken delivery of three newbuild LNG carriers from South Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Heavy Industries.

The sister vessels Assos, Apostolos, and Aktoras have a cargo capacity of 174,000 cubic meters and are propelled by MAN MEGA engines. They are also equipped with the latest technologies such as an air lubrication system, shaft generators, and increased filling limits (above 99%).

According to Capital Gas, the vessels are setting an industry benchmark with their exceptionally low environmental impact through technologies designed to minimize methane slip and reduce CO2 emissions.

The three newbuilds belong to a series of LNG vessels to be delivered to Capital Gas by 2027.

The company’s previous LNG carriers of the same size, Aristos I, Aristidis I, Aristarchos, Attalos, Adamastos, Asklipios, Asterix I, and Amore Mio I were delivered in 2020, 2021, and 2023.

In addition to LNG carriers, Capital Gas LPG carriers, four pioneering LCO2 carriers, and dual fuel very large ammonia carriers (VLACs) with a total carrying capacity of approximately 3.69 million cubic meters.
