[KOGAS Press release/ March 14, 2025] KOGAS (Korea Gas Corporation) has introduced a "City Gas Saving Cashback" project this winter to encourage energy conservation and alleviate financial pressure on households. The initiative allows households to receive cashback if they reduce their city gas consumption compared to the same period from the previous year (December through March). Specifically, households that cut their gas usage by more than 3% compared to last winter can receive up to 200 KRW per cubic meter of gas saved.

For example, households that reduce their consumption by 20% compared to last year can receive over 90,000 KRW in total benefits from both cashback and reduced gas fees. The cashback program is available until March 31, and people can apply for it through KOGAS's online platform.

As of February this year, approximately 400,000 households have signed up for the program, a significant increase of 130,000 compared to last year. KOGAS anticipates even more households will take part in the program throughout the rest of the winter.

A KOGAS official emphasized that the initiative not only supports households but also contributes to national energy savings.
