[KOGAS Press release/September 8, 2025] Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS, President & CEO Choi Yeon-hye) announced on September 5 that it signed a natural gas sales contract under the Individual Pricing Scheme with Korea Southern Power (KOSPO, President & CEO Kim Joon-dong) at the ITX conference room in Yongsan Station, Seoul. Around 20 officials from both companies, including the two CEOs, attended the event.

Under the agreement, KOGAS will supply 440,000 tons of natural gas annually for 10 years from 2027 to 2036, amounting to a total of about 4.4 million tons. Backed by its top-level price competitiveness and supply stability, KOGAS has secured another major power generation public enterprise as an individual pricing scheme customer, following Korea Western Power in June.

The Individual PricingScheme was introduced in 2020 to enhance the stability of domestic natural gas supply and reduce costs by improving facility utilization. As a key power generator responsible for national electricity demand, KOSPO opted for KOGAS’s individual pricing scheme to ensure both supply stability and price competitiveness.

To date, KOGAS has signed cumulative Individual Pricing Scheme contracts totaling about 3.4 million tons annually, and it plans to further expand supply in the future.

President Choi stated, “This agreement marks a meaningful turning point for both companies to respond swiftly to the energy market and to provide greater benefits to the public based on trust and cooperation.” She added, “KOGAS will continue to strengthen competitiveness in domestic and international natural gas markets and contribute to building a stable national supply chain and the future of energy innovation in Korea.”
