[KOGAS Press release/ January 2, 2026] Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS) is promoting the joint use of its liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage facilities as part of efforts to enhance the efficiency of the nation’s natural gas infrastructure and help ease the burden of gas charges on consumers.

KOGAS said it will accept applications for the joint use of its LNG storage facilities through January 16, 2026. Eligible applicants include companies that plan to begin supplying LNG before December 2029.

Through the recruitment process, KOGAS aims to provide users with world-class LNG production and supply services. The initiative is also designed to support the growth of the power generation industry in line with the government’s carbon neutrality and artificial intelligence (AI) transformation policies, while preventing redundant and excessive investment in infrastructure.

KOGAS added that expanded joint use of LNG storage facilities is expected to contribute to stabilizing gas rates. “We will continue our efforts to align with national energy policies by revitalizing the joint use of LNG storage facilities,” a KOGAS official said.
