[Yonhap/ January 20, 2026] HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (HD KSOE) announced on Jan. 20 that it has secured a 481.6 billion won shipbuilding contract with an Oceania-based shipowner for four vessels—two crude oil carriers and two petrochemical product carriers (PC tankers).
According to the company’s disclosure, the vessels are scheduled for delivery by the first half of 2029. The crude oil carriers will each have a capacity of 157,000 deadweight tons (DWT), while the PC tankers will be 115,000 DWT.
With this order, HD KSOE has now won contracts for a total of nine vessels, achieving approximately 6.4% ($1.49 billion) of its annual order target of $23.31 billion. By vessel type, the current order book includes four liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers, one liquefied petroleum gas (LPG)/ammonia carrier, two crude oil carriers, and two PC tankers.
