[KOGAS press release/September 18, 2023] Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS) announced on the 18th that its CEO, Choi Yeon-hye, has officially joined the Zero Disposables Challenge initiated by the Ministry of Environment. This nationwide campaign aims to curb the use of disposable products in daily life, ultimately reducing resource consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.

The Zero Disposables Challenge encourages individuals and organizations to embrace reusable products and share their commitment through social media platforms. Participants express their dedication by creating and sharing photos or videos that display the numbers 1 and 0 with their hands, symbolizing the pledge to eliminate single-use items from their routines.

KOGAS, a prominent player in the clean energy sector, has been at the forefront of promoting carbon reduction measures in daily operations to create a cleaner environment for future generations.

The company has implemented eco-friendly practices such as using multi-containers in its in-house cafe and embracing a paperless culture by utilizing tablet PCs during meetings. Moreover, they have adopted rainwater removers instead of disposable umbrella vinyl, further demonstrating their commitment to resource conservation.

CEO Choi emphasized the importance of societal consensus in reducing disposable product usage, stating, "Our company will also actively participate in reducing the use of disposable cups and PET bottles."

On the other hand, Choi Yeon-hye, who took part in the challenge by Kim Dong-sup, president of Korea National Oil Corporation, pointed to Han Moon-hee, president of Korea Railroad Corporation, as the next participant in this critical initiative.
