[Yonhap/May 23, 2025] HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (KSOE) announced on Friday (23rd) that it has signed a contract to construct two 18,000-cbm LNG bunker vessels (LNGBVs) for a European-based shipping company.
Industry sources indicate that Spain’s Grupo Ibaizabal is behind the order, placed in connection with a long-term agreement with energy major Shell.
The deal, valued at nearly $200 million, marks a significant investment by Ibaizabal. The agreement reportedly includes options that could bring the total number of vessels ordered to as many as 10.
