[Yonhap/December 11, 2025] HD Korea Shipbuilding &Offshore Engineering (HD KSOE) announced on the 11th that it has signed a shipbuilding contract with an African shipowner for two very large ammonia carriers (VLACs).

The total contract value amounts to KRW 354.2 billion. The vessels will be constructed at HD Hyundai Heavy Industries and are scheduled for sequential delivery by the second half of 2028.

Including this latest order, HD KSOE has secured contracts worth USD 16.76 billion for 119 vessels so far this year, achieving 92.9% of its annual order target of USD 18.05 billion.
