[KOGAS Press release/ February 26, 2026] Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS) announced on the 25th that it received the Minister of Trade, Industry and Resources Award at the “2026 Korea Green Climate Award” ceremony held at the National Assembly Hall in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul.

Hosted by the National Assembly Climate Change Forum and sponsored by the Korea Environment Corporation, the Korea Green Climate Award was established in 2010 to recognize individuals and organizations that have contributed to addressing climate change and advancing a sustainable carbon-neutral society.

At this year’s ceremony, KOGAS was the only public energy institution to receive a ministerial award in the reduction and adaptation sector, standing out amid strong competition. The recognition highlights the company’s achievements in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and strengthening its response to the climate crisis.

Under its in-house greenhouse gas reduction roadmap, KOGAS has delivered systematic emission-cutting results. The company expanded natural gas decompression power generation, utilizing pressure energy that would otherwise be discarded during the natural gas supply process. In addition, KOGAS earned an “A-” rating in the 2025 climate change category of the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), reflecting its strengthened environmental management and transparency efforts.
