According to industry sources on January 26th, H-Line Shipping signed a contract with China's Guangzhou Shipbuilding International (GSI) to build two 8600 ceu LNG-powered(dual-fuel) pure car/truck carriers(PCTCs).
H-Line placed the order based on a new ship contract instead of a long-term charter contract with Hyundai Glovis.
The PCTC new-building contract was signed last year but only recently went into effect. The delivery date is expected to be between 2024 and 2025.
The deal comes after it ordered four 7,000 ceu and one 8,600 ceu PCCTs at GSI last year for long-term charter to Hyundai Motor’s transport arm, Hyundai Glovis.
To sum up, the total number of PCTCs ordered by H-Line so far is seven, including four 7000-CEU vessels and three 8600-CEU vessels.
