[KOGAS press release/October 20, 2023] In a move to foster innovation in the realm of natural gas technology, Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS) has announced the launch of the "K-Test Bed contest." This initiative aims to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in showcasing their products related to natural gas technology development, fostering both domestic and international market expansion.
The K-Test Bed, a comprehensive platform sponsored by the Korean Government, opens up public infrastructure to startups and SMEs, providing crucial support for research and development, field demonstrations, and market penetration.
KOGAS is actively engaged in three technical development demonstration projects focusing on natural gas facilities. These include an ultra-low-temperature pump for LNG drain facilities, a facility designed for precise correction of natural gas flow rates, and an outdoor fire hydrant.
As part of the support mechanism, KOGAS plans to contribute 75% of the demonstration cost (capped at 100 million won) to the selected small and medium-sized venture companies through a public offering over the course of a year. This financial aid aims to facilitate the entry of technologically promising companies into the market.
