[KOLBIA/ March 31, 2023] KSOE(Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering) and H-Line Shipping announced on the 29th that they recently signed a memorandum of understanding on the development and demonstration of engine automation for autonomous ships and integrated safety control systems. The signing ceremony was held at the HD Hyundai Global R&D Center (GRC) in Pangyo, Gyeonggi-do.
Through this agreement, the two companies plan to demonstrate the world's first engine automation system (HiCBM) and integrated safety control system (HiCAMS) in LNG-powered bulkers, which will be built by Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries and delivered to H-Line Shipping in October.
The engine automation system and the integrated safety control system are AI-based solutions that can diagnose the condition of mechanical equipment such as engines and generators on ships and automatically recognize and respond to unexpected situations such as fires.
