[Yonhap/ December 23, 2025] Samsung Heavy Industries said on the 23rd it has secured a KRW 743 billion contract from an Oceania-based shipowner to build two liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers.
The vessels will be delivered sequentially by March 2029, the company said.
The latest deal brings Samsung Heavy Industries’ total order intake this year to $7.4 billion, including orders for LNG carriers, shuttle tankers, container ships, ethane carriers, crude oil carriers, and an offshore production facility preliminary work contract. Its order backlog now totals 132 vessels worth $28.3 billion.
