[Yonhap/ February 2, 2026] HD Korea Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (HD KSOE) said Wednesday it has signed a contract with Sonagol Shipping to build one liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier, valued at 357.5 billion won (30.5 million U.S. dollars).

The LNG carrier will be constructed at HD Hyundai Samho and is scheduled for delivery in the first half of 2028, the company said.

With the latest order, HD KSOE has secured contracts for a total of 12 vessels worth 1.93 billion dollars so far this year, accounting for 8.3 percent of its annual order target of 23.31 billion dollars.

By vessel type, the orders include five LNG carriers, three liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and ammonia carriers, two crude oil carriers, and two pure car and truck carriers (PCTCs).
