[Yonhap/ November 19, 2025] HD Korea Shipbuilding &Offshore Engineering (HD KSOE), the intermediate shipbuilding holding company of HD Hyundai, announced on the 18th that it has signed a construction contract with a North American shipowner for two liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers.
The total contract value is 741.2 billion won. The vessels will be built by HD Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries and delivered sequentially by the second half of 2028.
With this latest order, HD KSOE has secured a total of 104 ships worth 14.24 billion dollars so far this year, achieving 78.9% of its annual order target of 18.05 billion dollars.
By vessel type, the orders include seven LNG carriers, six LNG bunkering vessels, nine liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and ammonia carriers, two ethane carriers, 61 containerships, 16 tankers, and three product carriers (PCs).
