[KOGAS Press release/November 15, 2024] The Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS) held its annual "KOGAS BIC (Best Innovation Contest) 2024" on 7th at its headquarters in Daegu, celebrating top achievements in innovation aimed at enhancing efficiency, safety, and public service.
The event, which highlights KOGAS’s most successful innovation efforts, serves as a platform to share effective solutions internally and externally that have produced excellent results, such as cost reduction and improvement of national benefits.
KOGAS identified 83 innovative initiatives across three key areas: enhancing work processes, strengthening public services, and promoting active governance. Ten exemplary practices were selected for recognition, with the grand prize awarded to a project titled "Development of Automatic Welding Technology for High-Pressure Gas Piping Construction." The new technology promises to improve safety and quality on construction sites, while also lowering costs and reducing emissions.
Additionally, KOGAS introduced an "Innovation Challenge" category in 2023 to foster ongoing innovation. This initiative highlights the long-term impact of past winners, encouraging the continuation of successful practices across the organization.
A KOGAS representative emphasized the company’s commitment to continuous innovation: “We will keep striving to generate tangible results by more actively responding to the needs and expectations of the public in the future.”
