[KOGAS Press release/ November 20, 2024] The Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS) announced on the 19th that it held the ""2024 Partner Meeting on LNG Component Localization and Technology Development" at its headquarters in Daegu on November 4. The event aimed to promote the development of LNG parts technology by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and support the successful commercialization of their innovations.
Over 30 participants attended the meeting, including LNG experts from KOGAS’s production bases and officials from partner companies. During the event, attendees discussed the progress of ongoing projects to localize key LNG components, such as gas bearing pistons, and shared development achievements and future challenges.
KOGAS reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the commercialization of these products, pledging to actively gather feedback from the council and provide necessary infrastructure for future product demonstrations.
To date, KOGAS has successfully localized more than 160 LNG equipment items, including ultra-low temperature ball bearings, in collaboration with domestic SMEs. As a result of its active support, KOGAS helped these SMEs achieve significant growth, with a reported sales increase of approximately 9 billion won last year.
