[Yonhap/October 2, 2025] Hanwha Ocean announced on October 1st that it has secured a new contract valued at 353.4 billion won to build a single liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier for a North American client.

The vessel is scheduled for delivery by the end of May 2028. his latest deal adds to Hanwha Ocean’s growing order book for 2025.

So far this year, the company has landed contracts for a total of 32 ships, amounting to approximately $6.32 billion (around 8.89 trillion won). The orders break down as follows: 13 container ships, 6 LNG carriers, 12 very large crude carriers (VLCCs), 1 icebreaking research vessel

This steady stream of contracts highlights Hanwha Ocean’s strong performance and diverse shipbuilding capabilities across multiple vessel types.
