[KMOU press release/ July 5, 2023] H-Line Shipping generously donated power-saving devices worth 112.5 million won to the Korea Maritime & Ocean University (KMOU) during a ceremony held at the university's headquarters on July 5th. The event was attended by key officials, including the president of KMOU and the CEO of H-Line Shipping.
The power-saving devices, once installed on the university's training ship, are expected to yield energy and fuel savings of approximately 7% to 10% over a period of more than 10 years. This will be achieved through the reduction of power loss and improvements in efficiency. Apart from the cost savings associated with reduced fuel consumption, these devices will contribute to environmental conservation and serve as a noteworthy example of actively supporting the energy transition policy towards achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
KMOU expressed their deep gratitude to H-Line Shipping, stating that the donated power-saving devices would play a significant role in energy conservation for the training ship. H-Line Shipping has been proactive in addressing the impacts of the climate crisis and taking measures to mitigate them. The company has made substantial investments in eco-friendly energy-saving infrastructure, the adoption of cutting-edge technologies, and the implementation of safety equipment to ensure the well-being of their crew members.
