[Pan Ocean Press release/ August 12, 2024] Pan Ocean announced on August 12th that it has taken delivery of the "New Brave," a state-of-the-art, eco-friendly LNG carrier, from HD Hyundai Heavy Industries.
The "New Brave," a 174,000㎥ super-large LNG carrier, measures 299 meters in length, 46.4 meters in width, and 26.3 meters in depth. The vessel, which represents the first of two new carriers, was named in a ceremony held on July 25. The second ship, the "New Nature," is anticipated to be delivered in September.
Both the "New Brave" and "New Nature" are part of a 2020 agreement between Pan Ocean and Shell. Additionally, Pan Ocean has two more LNG carriers scheduled for delivery by the end of this year under a separate 2021 agreement with Shell. These vessels are set to transport LNG globally over a period of up to 13 years.
As Pan Ocean expands from its primary focus on dry bulk shipping to the LNG transport sector, the company is poised to leverage its new long-term contract with Shell to gain valuable operational experience and explore future business opportunities.
