[Yonhap/ February 26, 2026] HD Hyundai Heavy Industries announced on February 26 that it has secured an order worth 367.8 billion won to build one liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier.
The vessel was ordered by a shipping company based in Oceania, according to the company’s regulatory filing. Delivery of the LNG carrier is scheduled for September 2028.
The latest contract further strengthens HD Hyundai Heavy Industries’ presence in the high-value LNG carrier market, where global demand remains firm amid expanding LNG trade and long-term supply projects.
